Front Door & Corbel Restoration & Install + Portico
Our client purchased an architecturally salvaged wooden front‑door slab from a local New Orleans salvage shop, and we were brought in to bring it back to life. The project involved fully refurbishing the door, applying a custom stain and protective finish, and then installing the restored slab and hardware into the existing door‑jamb opening. The result is a beautifully renewed, character‑rich entryway that preserves the charm of the original piece while functioning like new.
About twelve months after the original door installation, the client asked us to return and build a custom portico awning to complement the refurbished front door. They wanted the addition to feature two decorative corbels, so we sourced matching salvaged pieces, fully restored them, and integrated them into the new structure. After constructing the portico, we installed the corbels to complete the design, giving this home an entryway that’s both structurally solid and visually striking.
